Donald Ferguson Murray was born  August 27, 1913 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.

Donald grew up in the McNally District on the family farm. He attended the White School, a one-roomed school house up to grade nine, then went to the Lethbridge Colligiate for his high school education. Don later attended Olds Agricultural Collage and the Technical Institute (now the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) in Calgary.

On October 26, 1946 Don married Mona Catherine Raskevich, who had taught at the White School in 1942 and 1943.

Don later  took over operation of the farm upon his father's retirement in 1950, where he and Mona remained until his retirement in 1978. Upon retirement, Don and Mona moved into  the house built by his father in Lethbridge.

Don was involved in the Alberta Wheat Pool, Farmers Co-Operative Implements and was instrumental in the rural gasification project for the McNally District.

Don was also a member of the Masonic Lodge North Star #4 and of the AOTS at McKillop United Church.

After his retirement, Don was actively involved in the Seniors Curling and Slowpitch and had the opportunity to travel with Mona.

Don (obituary) passed away March 18, 1997 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada and is interned in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge, Alberta.  Plot 20E-9-24-A.
