From The Paddock

The July Long Weekend Field Trials have come and gone. Donny saved our collective posteriors again. I managed to spend most of the weekend either cooking or hiding. Didn't pick up a shovel or climb a ladder to push a lure button. Big thanks to the newest FGC heroes, Dave, Ron and Ron's boys. After setting the field Ron's boys jumped on the garden tractor (under the careful supervision of dad) and mowed around the course. All four where out in the field till the wee hours, much to the chagrin of mother Rose.

I guess, to an extent, Club members will feel somewhat of a letdown. July 17, 2011 will mark the end of another Field Trial Season for the FGC. In all the years Pat and I have been involved with the club I can't remember this early an end to the coursing year. That will leave the final event of the year, our 27th Specialty Show (July 31, 2011) associated with the Alberta Kennel Club Shows at Spruce Meadows. We hope to be able to witness a number of spectacular sighthounds strutting their stuff.

Please note a selection on the menu called "Fun Stuff". Please feel free to send me contributions to future pages.

Hope we see you in the ring or on the field.
